About the Role:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of FP&A will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, investor relations, and decision support across the organization. A successful candidate will possess a combination of strategic vision, analytical prowess, and leadership acumen to guide our financial planning efforts and optimize performance. This is a hybrid role meaning you will primarily work from home but may be asked to work in our downtown San Francisco office on pre-determined days or attend scheduled office-based events.

The base compensation range for this role, not including the bonus, is: $250,000 - $300,000

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial planning processes, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term strategic plans, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to executive leadership and key stakeholders, leveraging data-driven analysis to support decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Lead the FP&A team in conducting thorough financial analysis, variance analysis, and scenario modeling to identify trends, opportunities, and risks and support strategic initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes and systems to enhance financial information efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as accounting, operations, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment of financial plans and strategies with operational activities and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, analysts, and financial institutions, to support fundraising efforts and enhance the company's reputation and credibility in the market.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic factors, and regulatory developments that may impact financial performance, and proactively recommend adjustments to financial strategies and plans as needed.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability within the FP&A team, providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to maximize individual and team performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis roles, with a demonstrated track record of success in strategic financial management and leadership.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, capable of driving change and innovation to achieve business objectives.
