About the role

The Security Engineer is responsible for reviewing security/data protection/operational requirements, development of security/networks standards, and securing Inari’s data networks infrastructure, including the network perimeter, hybrid/cloud perimeter (including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS etc.), remotes access, LAN/WAN, leased spaced or owned, data center, wired and wireless environments.    

 This is a fully onsite role in Irvine, CA.  

The role works closely with business and technology counterparts to understand the enterprise objectives, initiatives, and their impact on the network/ security infrastructure. Promotes governance and compliance with security/operational standards, policies, and procedures, as well as develop and maintain Inari’s network/security architecture and strategy with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, process, and reliability. Acts as liaison between the various security-focused groups in Inari medical to help drive comprehensive network/security architectures, procedures, and strategy. Manages day-to-day issues and maintains the enterprise standards and protocols in relation to information security.    

Responsibilities     

  • Partner with key stakeholders including IT, legal, compliance, and business to develop security & data protection strategies and tactical controls.
  • Collaborate with network engineers to ensure best practice security design and configuration for firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP, WiFi, etc.
  • Conduct multi-platform cloud security assessments and remediations.
  • Collect, prioritize, report, and remediate vulnerability scan findings.
  • Review, summarize, and present cyber threat intelligence from external sources.
  • Analyze network activity to identify and address current and potential impacts.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure periodic testing of security controls.
  • Participate in incident response activities including identification and containment. security incidents, conducting investigations, and documenting findings.
  • Assist BC/DR and network penetration testing.
  • Perform continuous threat hunting at infrastructure, endpoint, and application levels. 
  • Remain current with industry regulations and cybersecurity best practices as well as emerging vulnerabilities, exploits, and trends.

Qualifications    

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field required
  • Minimum 3 years experience directly administering Cisco Meraki enterprise security solutions.
    Minimum 3 years experience in a role directly involving information security.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning (e.g. Tenable/Nessus) and Azure/AWS cloud security solutions (e.g. WAF, PIM
  • Expertise with Meraki firewalls, IPS/IDS, DLP, and anti-malware solutions    
  • Ability to comprehend security assessment reports, prioritize vulnerabilities and enact countermeasures in real-time.    
  • Strong familiarity with log analysis, malware triage, and network intrusion countermeasures.      
  • Solid hands-on skill with design and implementation of services in Azure &/or AWS.    
  • Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely and efficient manner, using critical thinking and analytical skills.    
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.    
  • Ability to identify and assess small details that may pose significant risks to the organization.    
  • Integrating technical knowledge with a deep understanding of the organization's strategic goals and operational needs.    
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and limited direction, and in collaborative team environments.    
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle and prioritize multiple requests.    

Preferred    

  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX,HIPAA, CCPA etc.).
  • Relevant cybersecurity certification (e.g. CISSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+).
  • Relevant network certification (e.g. CMSS, CCNP, CCIE).
  • Experience with various security solutions such as Meraki Secure SD-WAN Plus,
  • CrowdStrike, Abnormal, OKTA, Knowbe4, and Code42.
  • Experience with advanced cloud networking solutions (e.g. Azure Virtual WAN).

Inari Medical offers competitive health and wealth benefits for our employees. The base pay range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000. A range of factors, including location, skills, and experience, will be considered. Actual compensation may vary.
