Job Summary

The Director of Operations provides operational leadership for the Office of Student Access and Success (OSAS) and serves as a key operational partner to the Vice Chancellor in advancing office and systemwide priorities. The Director helps translate OSAS priorities and TBR initiatives into coordinated action by developing and maintaining the internal systems, workflows, timelines, communications, and accountability structures needed for effective implementation. The Director ensures that OSAS resources, budgets, processes, and team structures are aligned to support high-quality, timely, and consistent service to TBR colleges. The Director reports to and supports the Vice Chancellor, supervises designated OSAS staff, and works directly with system office leaders and personnel, as well as TBR colleges, senior-level administrators, staff, and faculty.

This position may have the opportunity to work remote within the state of Tennessee but with periodic visits to the TBR System Office (Nashville, TN) at the employee’s expense, and potential travel to Tennessee TBR colleges may be necessary.

Job Duties

  • 15% - Coordinate departmental fiscal and administrative operations, including processing vendor invoices, purchase requests, procurement documentation, and credit card reconciliations. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Coordinate employee travel activities, including travel authorizations, reimbursements, travel documentation, and compliance with institutional and state travel policies. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Prepare, track, and maintain contracts and related documentation for departmental activities, speakers, vendors, consultants, and services. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Plan, coordinate, and execute logistics for Student Access and Success events, conferences, meetings, new employee onboarding, and special initiatives, including Perkins-funded meetings and activities. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Assist with Perkins V-related activities by coordinating meetings, maintaining documentation, supporting communications with institutions, assisting with event logistics, collecting information for reports, and providing administrative support for grant-related activities and professional development opportunities. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provide administrative support for statewide and national SkillsUSA activities, including coordination with vendors, procurement of supplies, contract administration, travel arrangements, and event support. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assist with advisory councils, subcouncils, board meetings, recurring committees, and provide administrative support to the Vice Chancellor. - (Essential)

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution
• Three years of administrative, program coordination, event planning, or related experience
• Experience coordinating meetings, events, travel, contracts, or fiscal processes
