RN - Clinical Pediatric Nurse Coordinator
72 hrs. Biweekly - Mon. - Fri. - Dayshift - Some Weekends Required
Are you passionate about elevating pediatric care and supporting frontline providers? Meritus Health is seeking a Clinical Pediatric Nurse Coordinator to lead and advance high-quality, patient-centered care for our pediatric population.
Position Overview:
The Clinical Pediatric Nurse Coordinator plays a key leadership role in integrating and coordinating pediatric services to achieve outstanding clinical, financial, and quality outcomes. This role supports interdisciplinary teams across the organization by delivering staff education, championing quality improvement initiatives, and implementing evidence-based practices and new technologies. Additionally, this position designs and evaluates educational programs to foster professional development, clinical competency, and adherence to pediatric standards of care.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate pediatric patient care services to support optimal health outcomes.

Facilitate clinical education programs to promote staff development and competency.

Lead and support new quality and safety initiatives, including implementation of best practices.

Serve as a resource and mentor to clinical staff, promoting excellence in pediatric nursing practice.

Ensure all activities align with professional nursing standards, ethical practice, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.

If MSN not initially held, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required at the time of hire.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in a pediatric acute care setting.
Licensure/Certification:
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland, or compact/ multistate license with ability to practice in MD

National Certification in Pediatric Nursing required.

BLS (CPR) certification required per Meritus Health policy.

PALS certification required based on unit assignment, in accordance with policy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric nursing practices and standards.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proficient in the use of clinical technologies and computer systems.

Skilled at collaboration and building positive interdisciplinary relationships.
