Your role at Baxter
As a Senior Engineer, you will lead small to medium size project teams with some supervision and also assist with portions of larger projects. This individual shall ensure that solution container products and devices meet appropriate regulatory agency requirements, internal company standards, and current industry practices.
What you'll be doing
Perform engineering assignments which are typically a significant portion of a larger project. Select sound techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations under the direction of a supervisor. Assess results for application, validity and conformance to specifications. Recommend material and process specifications
Use analytical skills and engineering tools to solve straightforward problems (e.g., FMEA, DMAIC Tools, Design of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, MINITAB)
Perform project management responsibilities such as 1) monitoring and reporting project costs including capital and multi-functional expenses 2) estimating costs affected by design and/or process changes 3) collaborating effectively with multi-functional development teams and manufacturing facilities around the world and 4) manage a project schedule including communicating out as needed
Proficient in technical writing.
Operate independently with latitude for independent judgment with some supervision while providing high quality output
Generate design and test documentation that meets company, FDA and recognized standards (ANSI, ASTM, ISO) requirements
Organize and present technical and project status overview with minimal assistance
Some travel to manufacturing plants and/or suppliers is required in order to understand manufacturing processes, investigate and resolve product related issues
What you'll bring
BS Engineering and 3+ years related experience.
Display a solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures (e.g., CAD, statistical analysis)
Experience working within or managing multi-functional teams to implement product/process improvement projects.
Experience with project planning software and concepts.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to understand and use complex concepts and/or processes.
Strong logic and problem-solving skills and/or knowledge of problem-solving tools (e.g. DMAIC).
Understanding of requirements & traceability matrix (Design inputs to design outputs)
Excellent organizational skills.
Basic understanding of drawings, BOMs, specs, manufacturing process documents etc
Experience with 510(k)
Experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech or related/regulated industry
Experience with plastic and rubber materials and manufacturing processes

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $88,000 to $121,000 and also includes an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position.
