Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as a Quarterly Census of Employment & Wages Analyst. The QCEW program is a Federal-State data cooperative charged with the collection, verification, and publication of a quarterly count of employment and wages for more than 95% of U.S. jobs, providing a vital benchmark for other Illinois and federal programs. Responsibilities include the analysis, interpretation, review and coding of worksite records, univariate statistical analysis on data variances, and correction of erroneous data based on telephone follow-up with employers and other best practices. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who has a strong knowledge of statistical techniques and is dedicated to determining the validity and accuracy of data. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience performing statistical analysis of data variances and resolving data inaccuracies in accordance with federal reporting requirements.
