We are currently looking to hire a Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, surgical assisting experience and knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and motivating team member.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of veterinary experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
  • Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
  • TPR
  • Assisting doctor and other technical staff with restraint
  • Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
  • Placing IV catheters
  • Digital radiology including positioning.
  • Dentistry (digital X-rays, scaling, polishing)
  • Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
  • Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
  • Excellent client communication/education
