WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Position Title: Data Engineer - Smartsheet & PowerBI Specialist
Overview: We are looking for a proactive and skilled Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will utilize your engineering expertise to create and manage Smartsheets and PowerBI dashboards that support the optimization of new and existing processes across the organization. You will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement Smartsheets and PowerBI dashboards to visualize and analyze data for various organizational processes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective data solutions.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to ensure that dashboards provide accurate and up-to-date information.
Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
Ensure the integrity and quality of data through rigorous testing and validation processes.
Provide technical support and training to team members on how to utilize Smartsheets and PowerBI effectively.
Monitor and optimize dashboard performance, making enhancements as needed to improve user experience and functionality.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering, visualization, and analytics to continually improve processes and tools.
Work with cross-functional teams to identify and address challenges related to data accessibility and usability.
WHAT YOU'LL HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*
Proven experience in data engineering, analytics, or a similar role with a focus on dashboard creation using Power BI and Smartsheet.
Strong understanding of data management principles, ETL processes, and database technologies.
Proficient in data visualization techniques and tools, with a keen eye for design and usability.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, capable of presenting complex data insights to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python is preferred but not mandatory.
Data Engineer Assoc (SG-5) $72,000 - $77,057.
This is an entry level position for new graduates with a bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred.*ABET - Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
Acceptable alternative is:
A Bachelor's degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor's program.
Data Engineer (SG6): ($72,380 - $90,475)
Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*.
