Senior Buyer

Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Buyer III. Purchasing and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with company guidelines in order to satisfy inventory requirements while meeting costing, quality and on-time delivery objectives and measures. Location: In office, Staunton, VA.

 

What you will do:  

• Ensure that company standard procedures are followed in connection with purchases of material and services
• Analyze market conditions and trends, explore sources of supply, process requests for all products and commodities
• Responsible for inventory planning and the procurement of materials, accessories, and services, including the expediting of critical items
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions, secure price advantages of quantity buying, compose and edit specifications, solicit formal and informal bids in accordance with standard procedures, and compare and analyze price quotations
• Follow up and maintain current and accurate database information, vendor lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages
• Update and maintain inventory maintenance within the software system
• Maintain data, prepare reports, and analyze information using available software in decision-making
• Study product usage, determine vendor from whom purchases will be made, place orders, negotiate and renew contracts, investigate complaints, and secure adjustments
• Process and analyze high profile contracts with other members of the team
• Resolve vendor quality issues and track and document results and vendor performance
• Initiate quality programs that benefit vendor relationships while improving the quality for customer
• Serve as a leader in identifying and resolving supply chain issues that may impact production
• Provide technical support and conduct training for staff
• Mentor and provide guidance to Buyers I and II

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related fields
• 6+ years of related experience
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

• The typical salary for this position ranges from $66,000-$105,600 in Virginia. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
