The Adoption team’s  mission is to ensure that care delivery is safe, efficient, and impactful. We are responsible for creating an empowering, automated and engaging path to metabolic disease reversal so it feels sustainable and delightful for all patients as they work to meet their goals. This year we are building robust, automated tools that help our members get the support and treatment they need. 

The ideal full stack candidate will have a passion and stronger focus for the front end.

Responsibilities

Partner with product management, design, AI team, analysts and non-technical stakeholders to come up with high-impact features that drive us toward our goal of bringing the Virta treatment to 100+ million people.

• Be a technical leader for medium to large scale projects while mentoring engineers.

• Collaboratively ship features for our web and mobile applications in 2-week sprints.

• Provide on-call support for the products and services the team manages and troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues in production and non-production environments.

• Help level up the engineering team by becoming a go-to expert on our products and introducing standardizations and processes that improve technical quality.

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

• Observe current development practices and propose, execute and evangelize one or more improvements to make our developer experience even better.

• Develop and evaluate feature release success criteria metrics and iterate for impact.

• Collaborate with team members through knowledge sharing, pair programming, and giving code reviews feedback.

• Deliver at least one complex feature with complete test coverage.

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of experience delivering client facing web or cross-platform mobile applications.

• Passion for learning and adapting to new technologies to solve problems.

• Solid experience with modern JavaScript libraries and tooling (e.g. React or related).

• Solid experience with REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, and performance optimization.

• Strong knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Go or similar.

• Comfortable working with legacy code while working towards improving it.

• Attention to detail, carefully crafts both tests and code.

• Has a "I am a Problem Solver" and "Pitch in where needed"  mindset
