About the role

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with a strong focus on security to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for managing vulnerabilities, ensuring security best practices in AWS, and enhancing our overall security posture. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in SIEM, AWS security tools, Terraform automation, and vulnerability management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage security best practices in AWS, leveraging tools such as Whitehat, GuardDuty, WAF, Inspector, Security Hub, Macie, AWS Config, and IAM.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate infrastructure using Terraform to ensure efficient and secure provisioning, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
  • Curate and analyze security monitoring data in Splunk and Splunk ES to provide actionable insights and improve system security and reliability.
  • Manage vulnerabilities by identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across our infrastructure.
  • Enhance our overall security posture by continuously evaluating and improving our security processes and practices.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to proactively address security concerns and optimize system performance.
  • Maintain and enhance the SIEM system to ensure timely detection and response to security incidents.
  • Develop and maintain security dashboards, reports, and alerts in Splunk to support monitoring and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide expertise in AWS security tools and best practices, staying updated on industry trends and recommending suitable tools for adoption.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to security alerts to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume Software as a Service (SaaS) production environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully operating in a security-focused role, with a deep understanding of AWS security tools and practices.
  • Strong experience with Terraform automation to manage infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with Splunk and Splunk ES, or similar monitoring and analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with AWS security services, including GuardDuty, WAF, Inspector, Security Hub, Macie, AWS Config, and IAM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Deep understanding of security concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty or similar credentials.
  • Experience with other security tools and platforms beyond those listed.
  • Knowledge of APM concepts and methodologies.
