About the role
Location: Jefferson Family Practice Position: Medical Assistant Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
Description: Provides direct and indirect patient care following orders provided by physician/nurse practitioner as appropriate. Provides high quality personalized patient care in a fast paced family practice. Works as part of a team.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of completion from an accredited school for medical assistants.
- National certification as a registered or certified medical assistant is required and must be maintained.
- Minimum of one year’s experience in a clinic/doctor’s office preferred, but not required.
- EMR experience preferred, eClinical Works a plus.
- National Certification issued from one of the following: AAMA – Certified Medical Assistant, ARMA – Registered Medical Assistant, NAHP Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
Duties (include but not limited to):
- Provide patient care within the scope of training from medical assistant program and Jefferson Family Practice.
- Accurate documentation.
- Patient dismissal with teaching, handouts as provided by physician/nurse practitioner.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, stocking and sterilizing instruments.
- Practice OSHA safety standards.
- Perform procedures such as EKGs and spirometry.
- Prepare and administer medications and/or vaccines with authorization from physician/nurse practitioner.
