Job Description Summary:

The Sr. Operator is responsible for operating complex production machinery in connection with our products and goals within the facility.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a safety-first mindset—employee, food, machine and process safety.
  • Take pride in producing a quality product.
  • Analyze data and make major adjustment to the machine(s) or operating procedures based on analysis.
  • Operate machinery in respective area while performing routine checks to ensure the product is within specifications.
  • Demonstrates higher than average machine operating aptitude.
  • May possess knowledge of operating multiple machines in respective area.
  • Follow work instructions related to specific machine(s).
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and timely. This may include tracking and entering data both manually and electronically.
  • Work with supervisor and/or other departments to ensure machine(s) is (are) operating safely and producing a quality product.
  • Monitor product for defects and adjust machine to ensure a safe and quality product.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Perform first level maintenance on respective machinery.
  • Follow production schedule.
  • Keep machine(s) clean during production.
  • Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy.
  • Follows all Safety Rules and procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others.
  • Follows all food safety procedures.
  • Follows all environmental protocols as applicable to job to prevent pollution to air, land, or water.
  • Follows all sanitation procedures and work instructions.
  • Follows all continuous improvement actions and rules and best practices.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to taste and evaluate product which may contain allergens including but not limited to, Milk

 

Qualifications and Competencies

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent strongly preferred.
  • May require ability to obtain and maintain forklift operating license based on company’s training program.
  • Strong ability to think analytically and possess critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to reason, especially in complex situations.
  • Ability to consistently perform at expectations autonomously and prioritize without direction.
  • Advanced computer skills or ability to learn advanced computer skills.
  • Previous experience operating complex machinery strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions relating to the operation.
  • Ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.
