POSITION SUMMARY

Corebridge Real Estate Investors is seeking a Senior Portfolio accountant who will work under the supervision of a team primarily responsible for the accounting, tax, reporting, and treasury aspects within the Corebridge Financial and AIG Insurance Company investment portfolio.  This position requires someone who is motivated, interested in learning, and very attentive to detail.  The individual for this position should be comfortable contributing to a team, prefer working in a busy environment where new and complex transactions occur, and enjoy interfacing at various levels within and outside the organization.  This position offers experience in many accounting, reporting, and tax areas of responsibility within a line of business offering excellent growth opportunities.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • A minimum of 4 years of accounting and finance work history. Experience within real estate industry is a +.  Work experience with a “Big 4” or other internationally recognized CPA firm a +.   CPA license or in progress is preferred.
  • Must have good work ethic.  The role requires working under pressure with various projects and deadlines, while reporting to multiple people.  There will be significant interaction with joint venture partners, AIG internal groups, third party property managers, fund administrators, asset/investment managers and internal/external auditors.
  • Individual needs to be proactive with issues and responsive to management.  Be able to work well independently and capable of identifying and resolving issues.  Detail oriented and willing to take a hands-on approach in all elements of the job.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting/financial statement presentation, budgeting, transaction analysis.    
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.  There will be heavy interaction with many parties.  The ability to communicate effectively is important.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Yardi, Microsoft Office suite and Advanced Excel skills.

FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITY

In addition to assisting management in special projects as assigned, the core responsibilities of this position include assisting with:

  • Review and prepare analysis of financial reporting, including GAAP financial statements (under both historical cost and investment company accounting), cash flows, income tax reporting and other project specific reporting. 
  • Accounting responsibilities, including general ledger function, Investor, Fund, and property level reporting and cash management.
  • Capital Call/Distributions management.
  • Coordinate and monitor external audit process
  • Proactively identifying and resolving accounting, reporting and tax issues.
  • Management of joint-venture partner relationship including review of monthly financial statements and participation with site visits to investment properties. 
  • Assistance with the development of accounting policies and procedures and internal control issues.
  • Assistance with the annual budget process, estimates, and variance reporting.
  • Preparation of reporting to various AIG groups and to third parties under tight deadlines.
