Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Environmental Project Manager with underground storage tank (UST) investigation/remediation experience for the Conshohocken, PA or Pittsburgh, PA offices. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate UST investigation/remediation project experience and people management experience, and require a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team.
Job Overview:
This full-time position within our Environmental group will lead a team to help manage site investigation/remediation projects with oversight from senior managers and technical experts. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate investigation/remediation project experience and require a strong focus on health and safety, be detailed orientated, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, and will be capable of working collaboratively in a high-performance team.
This position requires both office and field work; the successful candidate should expect to be out in the field up to 20% of the time mentoring junior staff. Remote work is an option if applicable to project responsibilities. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing scope, schedule, and budget for mid to large-sized investigation/remediation projects
- Building strong client relationships
- Client and regulatory correspondence
- Technical report writing and review
- Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits
- Analyzes and applies solutions to atypical and/or semi-complex and challenging issues within area of expertise
- Preparing cost estimates and proposals
- Working effectively with project teams, clients, and all other stakeholders
- Coordinating work schedules with AECOM staff and subcontractors
- Responsible for quality control of tasks
- Mentor project Jr. staff
- Will require some regional travel for field visits
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, Soil Science, Environmental Science or closely related field and 2+ years of Project Management experience in environmental consulting and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Travel is required for this position. Candidates will be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in environmental consulting
- 4 years of project management experience
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working for clients in the oil and gas market sector
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training
Additional Information
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
Offered rate of compensation in Pennsylvania will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000.
