Within the Office of ARD, the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (AEAG) team oversees a diverse set of programs and initiatives designed to increase participation and engagement among alumni, parents, and friends of the University, with a focus on driving key University priorities. Under the direction of the Executive Director, Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, this team is responsible for achieving ambitious participation, engagement, and fundraising goals within the College and broader University.
Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary point of contact for University constituents tracking and coding interactions.
- Liaise with AEAG program leads to manage expectations, questions, and concerns of alumni who are reaching out to UChicago Alumni.
- Edits, proofreads, and publishes high-level web pages and paid advertisements on the Alumni and Friends platform.
- Manages event-related operations including publishing, management of registrations, refunds, donations, and internal and external claims and transfers.
- Assists in the deployment of regional, affinity, and events newsletters in Phoenix (Salesforce).
- Creates and maintains surveys and Google Docs for marketing and operations efforts.
- Uses technology to synthesize data and draw conclusions.
- Periodically evaluates UChicago Alumni customer service operations and implements appropriate enhancements as approved.
- Seeks opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions.
- Acts as a principal contact and liaison for alumni within a specific region and coordinate regional activities with other areas of development and assures that no conflict occurs.
- Establishes and maintains metrics of success and makes sure those are present in departmental strategic plans, goals setting, and the annual budget.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Experience:
- A minimum of two years of professional work experience in database management, project management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, customer service or similar professional work experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, including Phoenix (the University's version of Salesforce, a University Relationship Management System), Microsoft Windows computer environment, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Managing and analyzing data.
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Office suite, data management programs, and survey tools.
- Proven quality assurance and process management skills.
