You will be joining a dynamic, supportive team of Product professionals who understand the importance of innovation and are passionate about applying it to our products.
Purpose of the role:
- The primary part of this Senior Product Manager role will be to define and execute Trainline’s product strategy and vision, focusing on optimising our products for our rapidly growing international customer base, currently across 22 markets in continental Europe, led by Spain, Italy and France. We are building a proposition we believe customers will be excited by and driving growth of our product through several big investments in customer experience – this role will be to lead one of these major investment streams.
- They will partner with Design, Research and Data Scientists to define what and how to succeed. The role will work with dedicated squads of Engineers of multiple disciplines, and lead improvements to the product across Mobile Apps, Web and Backend.
- A secondary part of this Senior PM position is to help us scale up a successful Product function within our Barcelona office. Trainline has a lively and fast-growing office in Barcelona, with a large Tech team and several functional roles. We are now expanding the office to include the growth of a product and design team based in Barcelona – to collaborate with our 2 existing Product hub teams in London and Paris
Responsibilities for this role:
- Be passionate about customer needs. You have strong empathy and are the customer advocate. You evaluate and understand customer insights and align them to the work your team is delivering to ensure user needs are met.
- Work with data science, researchers, and analysts to develop actionable qualitative and quantitative insights. You have a mindset of hypothesis, testing, and experimentation. You understand the value of learning fast and are able to communicate the hypothesis, insight, success, and failure to a wider audience
- Own the strategy and medium/long-term roadmap for your domain
- Understand customer and business needs to define the vision, and roadmap for the team and business unit.
- Work closely with a cross-functional team including Tech, UX, PR, Commercial, Marketing, Finance, to drive customer-focused innovation and achieve results. • Develop key partnerships with growth and marketing teams to deliver a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap.
- Be a compelling storyteller inspiring people through written and verbal comms and confidently present at internal forums
- Work on multiple initiatives in parallel, both in and outside the specific product area, collaborating with colleagues and cross-functional teams through leadership, not escalation.
- Be an effective member of the squad leadership with Engineering and Design or Business partners making sure squads are in a happy and functional place. Lead/participate in Agile ceremonies, with responsibility for a high standard of meaningful documentation and process
- Stay on top of the competitive landscape and EU and UK industry trends, articulating opportunities and threats
- Live the Trainline values and behaviours, demonstrating unquestionable leadership and accountability for your Product remit, building a healthy and collaborative Product and Engineering organisation cultures
Qualifications
- Significant track record (5+ years) of measurable contribution in a Product Management role in a customer-focused tech business
