Position Title:

Financial Senior Auditor (State Senior Auditor/State Staff Auditor - Underfill Option)

Job Description:

We are hiring five (5) Permanent Financial Senior Auditors, and one (1) Limited Duration Financial Senior Auditor.  The Limited Duration position is expected to last through June 30, 2027, and may be extended based on Agency need and budget approval.


Underfill Option: The goal of this recruitment is to fill these positions at the State Senior Auditor level; however, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the State Staff Auditor level to apply. If we are unable to fill these positions at the higher level, we will consider underfilling at the State Staff Auditor level.

This recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies. 
 

LOCATION: Salem, OR

In-state remote work may be available for this position with supervisor approval.

SALARY:

State Senior Auditor (C5682):
$6,061 - $9,364/month Non-PERS
$6,425 - $9,931/month PERS

Underfill – State Staff Auditor (C5681):
$5,781 - $7,700/month Non-PERS
$6,130 - $8,160/month PERS
 

These positions are eligible for an additional 5% differential for an active CPA or a Master’s Degree in Accounting. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

We are recruiting for individuals to join our Financial audit team.

In this role, you will conduct and issue financial and compliance audits, as well as conduct investigations of potential misuse of state resources by state agencies, local governments, or contractors receiving state or federal funds from state agencies.

This is accomplished in part by, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing fiscal and accounting functions and systems. 

  • Reviewing and evaluating internal controls. 

  • Reviewing and testing accounting records. 

  • Developing estimates and expectations of financial statement accounts. 

  • Reviewing financial trends and analyzing variances. 

  • Analyzing financial statement account balances and drawing conclusions. 

  • Reviewing and testing compliance with state and/or federal laws and regulations.
