Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Manager for a large scale facility renovationSafety protocols are important, addressing a lab, clean room while simultaneous operation with adjacent administration area renovation.

Who are you?

You are an experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 3-5 years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage client teams, including architects, engineers and supply chain to deliver compliant projects.
  • Can analyse, track and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
  • Verify that effective project governance, processes and systems are utilized.
  • Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
  • Production of formal project status reports and other reports as required.
  • Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are being applied correctly.
  • Manage the interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
  • Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Forecast and update key project milestones.
  • Manage and monitor local design teams in accordance with commission criteria.
  • Provide technical support to owners, architects, general contractors and regional stakeholders.
  • Rapid response to RFIs from the field.
  • Provide expertise for cost control, value engineering, and constructability guidance where required.
  • Independent review of status reports, drawing submittals, timelines and costs from architects, contractors and suppliers.
  •  Client management – assist in developing excellent working relationships with Clients, with a view towards maximizing new opportunities.
  • Strategic Thinking - provide advice to project teams on approaches that can be adopted to successfully achieve both clients’ objectives and business objectives.
  • Knowledge management – ensure that key information and learnings generated from each project is captured.
  • Process improvement – Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes.
  • Business Development - Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities and assisting with developing new business opportunities with existing and perspective clients.
  • Travel – travel as required, up to approximately 40%.
  • Design, PreCon, construction into next year. Design build.
  • Touching controls of physical equipment such as mixing equipment-refined oils.
  • Expansion of control center to simultaneous.
  • Locker room renovation.
  • Kitchen renovations.
  • Process flooring renovation. 
  • May be addition of parking lot scope.
  • $5-10M scope of work.
  • M-F, 9-5 hours.
  • Next week as of Monday to screen candidates.
  • NO OPTION FOR 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction  Management, or Architecture.
  • Construction / Project Management Professional certification.
  • OSHA-10.
  • Willingness to work on-site 5 days per week.
  • Strong organizational and management skills – ability to work effectively and  collaboratively with the broader team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Procore, and construction project management tools.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience required.
  • The candidate should have experience working on Oil and Gas corporate RE facilities.
  • Office TI is experience preferred.
