CLOSING DATE: Open until filled, with Bi-Weekly Reviews 

POSITION: Social Worker Senior

SALARY: $28.32-$32.84, per hour

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

LOCATION: Social Services, Nespelem, WA 

Basic Functions: Non-Exempt. Provides professional social work services to students and families.  Provides psychosocial assessments and diagnosis of behavioral disabilities to offer treatments and/or environmental manipulations at the school, home, and community-based settings. 

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

  • Requires a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, or a related field, which includes two (2) years social work experience.
  • Or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the Behavioral Sciences, or related field and five (5) years of social work experience working with elderly and/or disabled individuals.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and to be eligible for Tribal Insurance and maintain clearance throughout employment.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires the skill to define empathy, enabling, compassion, acceptance, ‘tough love’, lateral violence, and teamwork concepts and issues relative to the “helping information”, understand addictive processes and effects upon self, families, communities, and organizations. 
  • Requires to be intimately familiar with recovery from addictions by working a healing process for self for a minimum of five years.
  • Requires case management and protective services methods, techniques, and practices pertaining to elderly and disabled populations. 
  • Requires knowledge of theories of human behavior and group dynamics. 
  • Requires knowledge of methods and techniques used to conduct interviews and investigations.
  • Requires methods and techniques used to appropriately intervene during routine or crisis situations involving victims of abuse. 
  • Requires knowledge of safety/risk assessment techniques.
  • Requires knowledge of needs and problems of elders/disabled, dependents, and families from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Requires knowledge of community resources, community organizations, and health care systems.  Requires knowledge of Tribal, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and guidelines. 
  • Requires knowledge of reporting requirements and court procedures related to the elderly and dependent social services. 
  • Requires knowledge of laws, codes, rules, and regulations of governing agencies.  
  • Requires excellent writing skills and be highly familiar with case management record keeping and documentations.
  • Requires ability to practice counselor interview techniques and skills. 
  • Requires ability to safe guarding of confidential information and ramifications for breaching confidence. 
  • Requires ability to able to attend various training sessions as required by supervisor.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively in writing to prepare reports, case summaries, and correspondence in an understandable, clear and concise manner. 
  • Requires the ability to effectively assess diagnoses and apply intervention techniques when dealing with the elderly and family related problems. 
  • Requires the ability to establish workload priorities to manage caseloads in an efficient, organized and timely manner. 
  • Requires the ability to apply professional social work methods to various situations. 
  • Requires the ability to analyze a variety, use sound and logical reasoning, and exercise the proper authority when appropriate.
