Summary/Primary Role:

This role involves supporting the design, engineering, and construction of turnkey renewable energy projects, with a particular focus on solar projects in the tri-state area. The projects will range in size from 500 KW to 5 MW.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review engineered drawings for interconnection, IFP, IFC and closeout to ensure compliance with contract requirements and best design practices.
  • Review engineered drawings to ensure accuracy with major electrical specifications, including DC/AC ratio, conduit and wire sizing, breaker, panelboard and transformer sizes and specifications per customer requirements.
  • Review electrical drawings against civil and structural drawings to ensure accuracy and consistency across all engineering disciplines.
  • Use Procore to prepare and organize submittals and RFIs related to all engineering disciplines including electrical, structural and civil.
  • Coordinating with vendors for equipment specifications and requirements per the project schedule, customer requirements and best practices for electrical systems.
  • Tracking engineering completion progress for projects from interconnection, IFP, IFC and as built deliverables.
  • Participate in engineering coordination calls and take minutes for record.
  • Coordination of site work for engineers (includes electrical surveys, drone surveys, civil and structural scopes as needed.
  • All other duties and projects assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience working as Electrical Project Engineer for a solar engineering firm or renewable energy company.
  • Proven experience in reviewing engineered drawings and managing engineering documentation, particularly in renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with electrical systems design, including DC/AC ratio, wire sizing, breakers, panelboards, and transformers.
  • Familiarity with interconnection, IFP, IFC, and closeout processes in renewable energy projects.
  • Proficient in Procore, Aurora or Helioscope with some knowledge of AutoCAD preferred, but not required.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage cross-disciplinary teams.

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work: 

An Employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, while exempt employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Overtime requirements will be determined based on the operational needs of the organization.
