Position Summary
To combat cybersecurity threats, CVS has established a robust Cyber Security organization that includes a professional Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) team that utilizes advanced SIEM, security appliances, forensic tooling, and technologies to monitor the environment for compromise.
CVS DFIR is responsible for conducting investigations into anomalous activity identified by partners within the enterprise, analysis of electronic devices, mobile device forensics, eDiscovery, endpoint forensic analysis, building timelines and reports suitable for executive level consumption, and correlating a wide range of data to produce actionable information for the business to enable decisions and define actions to keep CVS Intellectual Property, business information, and customer and employee PII and PHI secure.
CVS DFIR works in unison with the CSOC and CSIRT teams to support complex and advanced threat incident detection and response across the enterprise.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) on Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, *nix, and customized embedded systems.
- Conduct investigations across a broad and complicated environment.
- Preparation of investigation and status reports for executive consumption.
- Update and optimize workflows and procedures for the program.
- Interface with various business units, technical and business leads, third parties supporting operations, SOC, CSOC, Corporate Security, legal counsel, and law enforcement.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant work experience in information security roles
- 3+ years in digital forensics
- 3+ years in incident response roles
- 2+ years in insider risk roles
- Interpersonal skills and ability to stay focused under pressure.
- Energetic, motivated, and the ability to work well and multitask on complex tasks with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling complex and sensitive investigations in close collaboration with a variety of departments including inside and outside counsel, business leaders and stakeholders, senior executives, human resources, external authorities, and internal subject matter experts
- Experience in data loss prevention systems
- Experience in enterprise environments
- Experience in cyber security operations/defense teams (e.g. CIRT, SOC, Insider Risk, etc).
- Experience in network and security technologies and administration
- Experience in endpoint engineering and/or server administration
- Experience with a variety of SIEM technologies and ability to learn various query languages.
- IT crisis management experience
- Experience in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and leading information security investigations
- Knowledge of current and evolving Information security technologies.
- Experience in evidence handling, chain of custody, etc..
- Experience in modern digital forensic tooling
- Experience in data extraction from a variety of platforms
- Understanding of UART, SPI, I2C, Protocol Analyzers, etc.
- Cyber Security Certifications. SANS/GIAC or DoD III preferred (e.g. GCFE, GCFA, GCIH, GASF, GREM, GNFA, GIME, GMON, GCFR, CASP, CISSP)
Location:
- Remote, but hybrid in Rhode Island based offices is preferred.

- Cyber Incident Response / Handling techniques

- UBA technologies
- Protocol analyzers
- eDiscovery tooling and processes
