Your role at Clorox:

Work hours: Monday - Thursday 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM
Pay: $37.66 / hour

The Blending Team Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the department's strict adherence to safety and quality standards while managing and adjusting to production needs. This position involves fostering the development of team members, efficiently managing staffing to align with business needs and cost objectives, overseeing daily operations, and maintaining equipment. The Blending Team Lead excels in task prioritization, fosters collaboration across departments, actively participates in team-based activities, and ensures compliance with plant procedures, policies, and standards.

In this role, you will:

• Cultivating a safety-first culture by serving as a role model and ensuring employee training and development through coaching.
• Leading and participating in Root Cause Investigations via Daily Problem Solving (DPS) to mitigate or eliminate job hazards and safety risks.
• Perform and train on all required raw material and product quality checks to meet specifications.
• Ensure that team members are trained to the minimum required SAP skill set and actively work to develop a more in-depth SAP skill set within the team.
• Implement a structured training approach by coaching and training your team through skill levels.
• Demonstrate and teach the value of, as well as the practices associated with, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Overseeing and ensuring the completion of precise quality checks.
• Maintaining standard work for the Blending department.
• Complete all required process paperwork, ensuring accuracy, and provide training to the team on timely and accurate data entry.
• Providing support to your team in various capacities, including driving Leaders' Standard Work (LSW) and active participation in Daily Management Systems (DMS) Tier 1 meetings.
• Facilitating seamless communication with all team members across all shifts (T1).
• Demonstrating proactive time management skills.
• Successfully completing and auditing Clean Inspect Lube (CIL)/Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks in the Blending Dept.
• Possessing advanced maintenance and troubleshooting skills and sharing knowledge with team members as necessary.
• Implementing the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and taking the lead in problem-solving initiatives, including Daily Problem Solving (DPS) and Kaizens, to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.
• Playing a pivotal role in spearheading and sustaining the implementation of TRACC tools (SIC, DPS, Tier 1) and systems during your shift.
• Collaborating closely with the Process Improvement Tech to execute countermeasures aimed at reducing process and equipment failures.
• Active involvement in Equipment Owner's roles and responsibilities.
• Ensuring strict adherence to safety, food quality, and general policies and standards.
• Develop and maintain a production schedule for the Blending Department to meet production requirements, and be capable of adjusting to production needs, ensuring that production lines do not experience downtime due to a shortage of dry blends
• Provide ongoing feedback and encouragement while coaching operators to improve their performance.
• Coordinating daily operations to guarantee that staffing levels align with production requirements.
• Taking the lead in executing Leaders' Standard Work (LSW) activities and coordinating with the maintenance team for planned downtime.
• Providing dedicated support and guidance to team members for tactical activities.
• Ensuring the proper escalation process is diligently followed during outages and troubleshooting situations.

What we look for:

• Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, with a preference for candidates who have experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Office suite.
• Basic SAP knowledge.
• Basic understanding of process improvement principles and methodologies, such as Toyota Production Systems (TPS) and/or Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
