About the role

Overview

Delivery Drivers will perform functions to assist the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority) Warehousing & Logistics Support contract.

 

This is an hourly position. 

Responsibilities

Shall perform a variety of delivery driver duties, to include, but not limited to the following:

 

  • Shall be licensed in accordance with local, state, or federal laws
  • Shall possess the basic knowledge and skills required to operate required vehicle 
  • Perform Picking and Put Aways at 98% accuracy as assigned
  • Perform daily cycle counts at a 98% accuracy rate as assigned
  • Material must be picked up at or delivered to the correct destination in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the successful and accurate completion of all MANCON required logs and safety checks, daily
  • Verifying materials against receiving, shipping, storage and inventory documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damage
  • Routing materials to prescribed storage, freight forward and/or shipping and receipt locations
  • Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed shipping methods
  • Process and/or affix, shipment, pick/pack and other paperwork and reports as required
  • Operates hand or power trucks and/or forklift in performing truck loading, unloading and delivery of material.
  • Deliveries are typically within the local area and include, but are not limited to, emergency and scheduled overnight deliveries.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety prior to operation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Driver's License for appropriately sized truck
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL Driver's License
  • 2 Years Commercial Driving Experience
  • 2 Years Forklift Operation Experience
  • 2 Years Commercial/Government Warehouse Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED

Physical Requirements

Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
