Summary

Manage complex outages including management, financial, scheduling, and corrective action and mentoring for all site personnel.

Provide technical assistance in the opening, inspection, and closing of gas and steam turbines, generators, valves, and auxiliaries during planned and unplanned maintenance outages.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pre-plan, schedule, and set-up site specific resources for Long Term Service Agreement and Transactional service contracts.
  • Assist in the development of specific outage parts requirements.
  • Direct and manage engineers, supervisors, mechanical specialists, and sub-contractors during outages.
  • Able to lead groups of field service personnel on both ST and GT major inspections and upgrade projects for OEM frames.
  • Implement quality control procedures during disassembly, inspection, and assembly of turbines and related equipment.
  • Review disassembly data and clearances and provide recommendations.
  • Review unit start-up and post outage operation data and abnormalities.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with customer personnel.
  • Manage outage implementation budget control.
  • Work with Service Operations personnel as well as Sales/Marketing personnel in the development and management of outage work scope.
  • Generate detailed field report in a timely manner.
  • Assist with improvements to outage tools and equipment.
  • Assist with identification and development of Service products.
  • Develop, review, revise field procedures, and related technical information.
  • Interpret and apply drawings, field procedures, and technical documents to open/close activities.
  • Instruct training courses for supervisors and mechanical specialists.
  • Lead a culture of “Zero Incidents” in the execution of all Mitsubishi Power and subcontractor work scope.
  • Ensure Quality of workmanship and customer service is meeting the expectations of Mitsubishi Power and Customer.
  • Overnight travel by land and/or air until contractual obligations are met. 
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA) in Engineering from four-year college or university; and at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
