Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Completes background checks and employee eligibility verifications  
  • Implements all tasks associated with new hire onboarding and orientation 
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments 
  • Performs tasks to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity; recognition; morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development 
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, separations, and investigations 
  • Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff 
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job candidates for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for positions 
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance 
  • Stays abreast of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR as well as talent management and employment law 
  • Performs other duties related to HR functions as assigned by the VP of People and Culture 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Caring and has the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent time management with the ability to meet deadlines 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software 
  • Ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems 

Experience and Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required 
  • Minimum of three years of related experience 
  • Experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred 
  • SHRM or PHR certified strongly preferred 

Work Environment 

The HR Generalist role is 60% remote and 40% in-office.
