The Second Judicial District is accepting applications for a full-time Court Operations Associate who will work onsite in the Jury Office at the Ramsey County Courthouse, 15 W. Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul, MN. This position involves advanced clerical and administrative work related to all aspects of Jury Operations and Administrative Services.
Work may involve performing a variety of advanced clerical functions which require the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of jury office policies and procedures, court rules, and statutes. The successful candidate must possess excellent public speaking skills and be able to conduct jury orientation for large groups of citizens summoned for jury duty weekly. Work involves frequent interactions with jurors, law clerks, and judges.
This position requires a considerable amount of data entry and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Advice and assistance will normally be provided as needed by the Judicial Calendar Coordinator/Jury Commissioner or Court Operations Manager, but most functions will be performed with minimal supervision. Interviews will be conducted in person the week of August 17.

Responsibilities
The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position.
- Perform varied court clerical work involved in case processing both manually and using the jury information system, MNCIS, and other related computer systems.
- Performs a high volume of telephone and in person customer service.
- Conduct jury orientation.
- Update jurors as to case/trial status.
- Determine juror qualifications.
- Grant/deny excusal requests and respond to juror correspondence.
- Create juror reports for judicial officers and manage juror call-in system.
- Update and maintain records for juror payments and assist with juror summoning.
- Perform courtroom assignment and calendaring duties.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Update web pages.

- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to use computers and related technology.

Minimum Qualifications

- Graduation from an approved high school or vocational school.
- At least 6 months of customer service experience.
- Ability to speak in front of groups of people.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, including customers and co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs and technology.
- Demonstrated dependability with excellent attendance and punctuality in past positions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check.
Physical Demands
Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying items up to 25 pounds. Some assignments may require periods of extended sitting, standing, or computer use.
Rate of Pay
The expected hiring range for this position for external candidates starts at $22.50/
