Job Summary:
The Nursing Administration Administrative Assistant/PBJ Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and ensuring accurate and courteous communication within the unit and to other departments as assigned; and to maintain unit records and supplies. Adheres to practice in accordance with the Ephraim McDowell Health nursing professional practice model. Performance that accomplishes patient and family centered care as central to practice and a foundation of caring, compassion, competence, communication, collaboration and teamwork. Responsible for collecting, maintaining, and ensuring accurate data, and submitting payroll-based journaling (PBJ) data to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) as specified under 42 CFR Part 483, Subpart B PBJ reporting requirements as needed. Demonstrates a commitment to accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills. Serves as a liaison between other departments ensuring communication and accurate records are available. Adheres to practice in accordance with the Ephraim McDowell Health nursing professional practice model. Performance that accomplishes patient and family centered care as central to practice and a foundation of caring, compassion, competence, communication, collaboration and teamwork. Responsible to participate in shared nursing leadership to accomplish positive outcomes, education, respect, dignity, and safety. Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort:
Works in a well lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods in a stationary position and moving around the unit are required. Risk exposure to disease, infection, and physical strain. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
Contacts with Others:
Patients, family members, support person/significant other, physicians, Associates, other healthcare providers, community resource personnel, administrative staff and Organization support services.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred. Previous clerical experience preferred. Proficient knowledge and understanding of the Kronos payroll application. Meditech experience preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Computer, copier, telephone, scanner, and fax skills required. Excel, Microsoft Office/Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher preferred. Proficient knowledge and application of data collection, analysis, and submission. Proficient in Kronos application. Basic knowledge and understanding of the PBJ process. Must be detail oriented when analyzing and inputting PBJ data to prevent costly fines to the Organization. Must have understanding of the CMS Rules and Regulations governing Long Term Care including PCT patient care.
