ABOUT THE JOB

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and supporting our Data Warehouse solution across the organization. You will be working with key stakeholders, product teams, technical leads, architects, subject matter experts, developers, and technical support groups to deliver value to the organization. You will need to gather business requirements, analyze, translate the business requirements to technical requirements, follow a SDLC process to develop, test, and deploy the solution. This role will require to have a background in data and business analysis as well as a problem-solving aptitude.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Participate in the data warehouse implementation and work closely with the Data Services team to ensure a successful launch. This includes the full DW lifecycle of requirements gathering, data modeling, data mapping, ETL, reporting and QA.
• Create physical data models in our DW based on data mapping and business transformations provided.
• Develop ETL frameworks within our DW to assist with Data Transformation efforts.
• Identify user requirements by researching and analyzing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods.
• Translate business requirements documentation into data requirements and source-to-target data mappings.
• Refine and decompose requirements to the level of detail required to initiate solutions.
• Design, prototype, develop, test, and document existing and new ETLs, and related components; make recommendations for related functions that result in a more value-driven product delivery.
• Prepare and document testing requirements.
• Correct testing defects and support all testing, including but not limited to: Development Integration Testing, System Testing, User Acceptance Testing, End-to-End Testing, and Performance Testing
• Deliver ETL and related components as specified in the design, functional and non-functional requirements, within established budget, time, and quality standards.
• Design, develop and maintain business data solutions.
• Crafting and execute queries upon request for data.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Formal Education and Certification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Education requirements may be satisfied with commensurate experience.  

 

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience system support and design.
• Database Administration experience.
• Experience designing and developing data, integration and analytics capabilities and solutions.
• Strong project management, organizational and mentoring skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and customer service focus with ability to understand how the business operates and the upstream and downstream activities that impact the business.
• Experience with Postman, Workato, Power BI recommended.
• Experience with Snowflake, Salesforce, ServiceNow, UKG, Intacct, and Jira preferred.
• Experience working in SCRUM and SDLC.
• Advanced SQL knowledge-Minimum 5+ years.
• Experience with python is preferred.
