Shop Helper / Trailer Washer – CDL or Yard Jockey Experience Preferred

Location: Auburn, IN
Schedule: Full Time | Thurs–Sat, 4:00 PM – 4:30 AM + $2/hour shift premium for overnight shifts

About the Role:

Transport Refrigeration Services, Inc. is looking for a reliable and safety-focused Shop Helper to join our team in Auburn, IN. This hands-on position focuses primarily on washing trailers (interior & exterior) and requires yard jockey or Class A CDL driving experience to move semi-trailers safely throughout our yard. If you enjoy working independently, staying active, and being an essential part of daily operations, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a yard truck to move and back up semi-trailers
• Perform interior and exterior trailer washes
• Maintain cleanliness in the shop, wash bay, and fuel island
• Fuel equipment and monitor fuel bay activity
• Operate forklifts, yard trucks, and other shop equipment
• Support general maintenance and cleanliness of the facility
• Adhere to all company and customer safety policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For:

• Yard jockey experience or Class A CDL (preferred for trailer moving)
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a physical environment
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Strong work ethic, team-oriented, and self-motivated
• Must be flexible with scheduling and available for overtime as needed
• Forklift certification and yard truck training a plus (training available if needed)

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
• Willingness to complete 40-hour yard truck training and forklift certification
• Basic computer skills 
• Ability to pass background check & drug screen
