About the Role
Stratford School is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Middle School Science / Speech and Debate Teacher for the upcoming school year. This part time role teaches coursework in general Middle School Science as well as Speech and Debate. Our ideal candidate brings energy, creativity, and the ability to foster critical thinking, communication, and academic excellence.
You’ll have the opportunity to plan and implement engaging curriculum in both science and public speaking, assess student progress, and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment. Salary Range: $42,000 - $56,000

What You’ll Do:
Teach Middle School Science / Speech and Debate curriculum
Foster students’ analytical, presentation, and public speaking skills
Assess, monitor, and document student academic progress
Maintain regular communication with parents and school leadership
Create a well-organized, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
Attend staff meetings and participate in in-house trainings
Collaborate with faculty and contribute to curriculum development
Support school-wide academic and extracurricular programs
What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree required; in Science, Communications, Education, or related field preferred
• Master’s degree and/or teaching credential a plus
• 2+ years of teaching experience at the middle school level
• Experience teaching public speaking, debate, or performance a strong plus
• Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
• A collaborative mindset and eagerness to partner with colleagues
• A commitment to building supportive student relationships
