About the role

Summary

We are seeking a multifaceted and strategic leader to be responsible for our procurement function for Packaging Materials, handling an annual spend exceeding ~$75M. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement 5-year sourcing strategies aligned with global business goals, emphasizing cost savings, optimized supplier relationships, and ensuring business continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement 5-year sourcing strategies for Packaging Materials, aligned with regional and global business goals.
  • Design, handle, and implement sourcing processes, including RFx events, negotiations, contracts, and supplier management.
  • Build positive relationships with internal collaborators (Factories, Materials Planning, Fulfillment, Quality) to understand needs and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Apply e-sourcing tools (Workday Strategic Sourcing, Ariba Sourcing) for streamlined procurement processes and improved efficiency.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to establish short and long-term business objectives, identifying, developing, and leading strategic business relationships.
  • Continuously monitor and measure procurement efficiency, identifying improvement opportunities through industry standard processes and data analysis.
  • Assess supplier agreements, negotiate on behalf of the company, using corporate buying power for efficient terms.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, handle procurement execution process, and resolve issues for smooth supply continuity.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the procurement team, staying current with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Drive ambitious efficiency goals, crafting a pipeline of projects.
  • Lead collaborator engagement and alignment throughout the end-to-end sourcing process.
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing strategies, implementing protocols for effectiveness and efficiency of critical initiatives.
  • Anticipate key supplier problems, resolve issues, and develop business continuity plans for supply.
  • Evaluate vendor quality of service, mediate disputes, and raise issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field. Master’s Degree or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, relationship management, contract negotiation, and project management.
  • Proven track record to communicate effectively, influence partners, and drive critical initiatives.
  • Experience handling complex contracts and collaborating with legal teams.
  • Financial and analytical competence, experience in setting strategy, leading ground-breaking change, and major project management.
  • Proven success in implementing cost-saving programs and optimizing supplier relationships.
