JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics seeks to hire an undergraduate student or recent graduate to work part-time as a Research Assistant.   

Typical Duties: 

- Develop Python algorithms to search for laser emission lines in stellar spectra 

- Conduct radio observations to search for radio technosignatures 

- Collaborate with other members of the Wright research group 

- Share results and findings with oral and written presentations 

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements: 

- Junior or higher-level undergraduate with a strong understanding of astronomy and astrophysics concepts 

- Prior research experience in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a related field 

- Prior experience with computer programming
