This position is a hybrid role working out of either our Houston or Austin offices.

What You'll Do

• As a Portfolio Manager, you'll be overall responsible for successful project deliveries.
• Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading a team of talented Project Managers, fostering their growth and development to unleash their full potential.
• Overseeing a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and driving profitability, scope management, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborating closely with project managers and the revenue team to address any challenges, mitigate risks, and maintain project momentum.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for escalations, spearheading discussions to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
• Identifying improvement opportunities across the portfolio and championing initiatives to enhance project delivery processes. 
• Run and drive strategic initiatives 
• Review and approval of AMER scope proposals 
• Working with project managers to understand and secure their resourcing needs

Who You Are

• Minimum 7 yrs of relevant experience, ideally up to 10 yrs, in customer-facing roles with expertise in software customer success, project delivery, and/or management consulting
• 2+ years of experience in Energy or Manufacturing is required
• Strong understanding of SaaS is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or similar. Relevant work experience will be considered as compensation to education.
• The candidate should be familiar with agile methodologies and/or experienced in program management 
• You should have a proven track record of managing complex stakeholder landscapes involving customers, end-users, internal teams, and preferably external partners.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with customers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization 
• At least one year of association with Cognite and possess a good understanding of our products, having delivered phase-1 projects for strategic customers is a plus.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to identify and manage risks and issues 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Portfolio Manager’s - Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Enhance professional growth of PMs through coaching and feedback sessions.
• Ensure successful project deliveries, exceeding customer satisfaction targets.
• Maintain service margins and track value and user adoption across the project portfolio where applicable. 
• Foster strong partnerships in project delivery and drive improvement initiatives.
• Conduct thorough SoW reviews to identify and mitigate risks upfront.
• Plan and support training for Project managers.
