About the role

We're currently hiring for the following locations:

  • Location: Americas. UTC/GMT -7 to UTC/GMT-4

Our fully remote, distributed environment enables us to work with awesome people from around the world. Our team members work from 38 different countries. We generally hire based on timezones and try to keep teams together by making sure that every Zapien overlaps with their manager & teammates for at least a few hours a day.

As a Product Manager for our newly formed Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) team, you will lead a cross-functional team of talented engineers and designers to maximize channel efficiency and hit aggressive user acquisition targets, as a part of Zapier’s mission of making automation work for everyone.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about data, experimentation, and driving revenue in a fast-growing business. To succeed, you’ll need to spike in analytical thinking, bias towards action, and build close relationships with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to build a pipeline of high-impact, high-velocity optimizations, page redesigns, and landing page experiments that will drive measurable business results and create world-class experiences for our future customers.

About You

  • You have experience working as a product manager or working directly with one. We’re looking for candidates who have a past experience of working directly on or with a product manager in a high growth environment. You have a strong understanding of the product development process and have ideally worked directly with engineering and design as your direct stakeholders.
  • You have experience bridging user needs and business value. You have an understanding of both user needs and business goals, and are able to think about the tradeoffs between the two.
  • You have a history of operating quickly, in an experiment-driven environment. We believe that the more at-bats you have at a problem, the better odds to solve it. Velocity is really important to us in this role, and you should bias towards speed over comprehensiveness
  • You leverage research and data. You understand when to use qualitative and quantitative methods, how to synthesize the results, and translate them into actionable plans. You’re able to translate what you learn with your team, prioritize accordingly, and measure the success of your work.
  • You are self-directed and a systems thinker. One of Zapier’s core values is Build the Robot - we believe in systems and that help scale our impact beyond our individual contributions. You effectively manage your own workload, create plans with cross-functional teammates, and escalate risks
  • You are a natural storyteller and great communicator - Communication is key in any product role, and is particularly something we look highly upon at Zapier. Zapier is 100% remote so impactful communication – visual, written and presentation – are crucial to communicating work and collaborating with your teammates.

What you’ll do

  • Execute against the vision and roadmap that has been set for your team.
  • Work in a small, autonomous, cross-functional team alongside design, engineering, UX research, and data to decide what we build next and execute on that decision
  • Talk with our customers and stakeholders to more deeply understand the problems that we can address for them.
  • Work closely with product designers on solutions by writing specs and creating wireframes
  • Work closely with engineers to understand enough technical context to help make better, faster decisions, and then work closely with engineers on solutions.
  • Work closely with decision scientists to measure and report on the results of your work (creating dashboards, writing SQL queries, etc.)
