The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a(n) Senior Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Microservices Development: Design, develop, and maintain microservices that are robust, scalable, and easy to manage.
  • Database Management: Work with SQL databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to design schemas, write efficient queries, and optimize performance.
  • Integration: Collaborate with teams to integrate other systems and ensure seamless data flow between applications.
  • API Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs for efficient communication between microservices and other systems.
  • Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, DevOps, and product management, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, processes, and architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND seven (7) years of experience as a software developer, with a strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture, Microservices, Event-driven architecture  

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from AND (14) years of experience as a software developer, with a strong understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture, Microservices, Event-driven architecture 

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Understanding of API authentication
  • Understanding of design patterns, microservices, and domain-driven design (DDD)
  • Expertise in SQL, stored procedures, ETL
  • Unit, integration, and end-to-end testing

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Understanding of secure coding practices, input validation, and avoiding common vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, XSS)
  • Tools: Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI
  • Hands-on experience with Lambda, API Gateway, SQS
  • Deep knowledge of REST, SOAP, and GraphQL
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
