Aerospace Manufacturing Production Planning Manager
We’re looking for a hands-on Planning Manager with strong operations leadership instincts to help drive daily execution across our manufacturing and repair value streams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on the shop floor, leads teams through changing priorities, removes production roadblocks, and turns plans into measurable results. Reporting to the Director of Planning, you’ll translate the monthly SIOP plan and Master Production Schedule into executable work orders, reliable material flow, and disciplined ERP data—while leading a multi-shift team of Production Planners and Water Spiders to improve schedule adherence, accountability, and operational performance.
Job Duties:
Operations Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a multi-shift team of Production Planners and Water Spiders, setting clear expectations for daily execution, responsiveness, and accountability.
Daily Production Execution: Convert the SIOP consensus plan and MPS into weekly and daily priorities that support on-time delivery, labor utilization, material readiness, and shop-floor flow.
Material Flow & Constraint Removal: Own the follow-through on MRP signals and material readiness, partnering with Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify shortages, resolve constraints, and keep work moving.
SIOP & Cross-Functional Alignment: Support the Director of Planning with supply plans, capacity inputs, constraints, inventory outlook, and risk mitigation while ensuring operational realities are reflected in planning decisions.
Capacity & Resource Coordination: Monitor work center load, labor capacity, tooling availability, and competing priorities to support short- and mid-term execution decisions.
ERP Discipline & Planning Data Accuracy: Ensure planning parameters, work orders, lead times, order policies, lot sizes, planning horizons, and safety stocks are accurate enough to support reliable execution.
Inventory & Point-of-Use Readiness: Partner with the Logistics Manager to align stocking strategies, cycle count execution, point-of-use inventory levels, and AS9100 requirements with operational needs.
Performance Management & Daily Accountability: Track and communicate key planning and operations KPIs, lead daily Tier meetings, and drive corrective actions that improve schedule attainment, material availability, and team performance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in production planning, operations supervision, manufacturing leadership, or material flow execution; aerospace or regulated industry experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, MPS/MRP logic, ERP planning tools, and how planning decisions impact shop-floor execution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage daily priorities, resolve constraints, and drive accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical capability, including Excel proficiency; Power BI experience is a plus.
