Fairview Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is a Level II Trauma Center that specializes in general emergency/trauma, cardiac services, sepsis care, and offers SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) services. As an RN on our team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. In alignment with our commitment to excellence in cardiac care, this position is open to registered nurses with prior experience in cardiac services, as well as those seeking to develop expertise and contribute to education within this specialty.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
- Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
- Critical Care experience
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasional
