Job Description

As a VP of Software & Digitalization at Renesas, you will be responsible for developing the strategy, vision, and execution of a growing organization. You will be responsible for developing an optimal organizational structure and be accountable for driving operational objectives for the business consistent with the business and corporate financial, strategic, and executional direction in Embedded and Automotive software and systems.

This role will require a seasoned leader who has led teams and managed them through significant growth. The leader will also demonstrate a deep understanding of the business and customer, optimal on-shore vs off-shore team structures, optimal team locations across geographies, drive strong execution within the business unit while aligning with other business units for synergies and dependencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess organizational needs and priorities for execution excellence to meet growing customer needs in Embedded Software and Systems
  • Collaborate with leadership, cross-organizational Business units and customers to help drive execution priorities.
  • Define clear roles and responsibilities and strategy for off-shore/on-shore and global teams to drive continuous improvements with optimal teams.
  • Continuously identify improvements to enhance customer satisfaction, improve efficiencies and decrease costs.
  • Create and monitor essential performance metrics with regular read outs to leadership to track development and other significant metrics. Performance metrics should address short and mid-range goals for performance and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware business units, marketing teams, business development and customers to architect and implement best solutions for customers.
  • Lead by example to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, execution excellence and innovation.
  • Manage multiple programs simultaneously to meet customer deadlines, while optimizing team sizes and costs.
  • Cross-collaboration with Business units, engineering, customers, program management, and marketing to ensure high quality and on time delivery of projects with optimum costs.

Qualifications

  • Masters/PhD in Computer Engineering/Science or related fields
  • Proven experience in globally distributed and culturally diverse engineering team management.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading multi-million operations and growing revenue for systems/solutions.
  • 10-15 years of customer experience, and track record of working with and improving customer experience with custom solutions when necessary
  • Demonstrate Competence in strategic planning and business development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative skills with an aptitude in decision making and problem solving.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

Hybrid Work Environment in San Jose, CA

Up to 50% International Travel

The expected annual pay range for this position is $260,500 - 391,000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities and commission pay.
