The Senior Director Principal Gifts plays a critical role in maintaining the overall management of the Philanthropy Department. This position requires a managing generalist who understands how to effectively communicate and foster relationships with prospects and donors. A caregiver in this position works a hybrid schedule from Main Campus, Monday-Friday from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Direct the vision and implementation of strategies for the generation of principal gift level funds for Cleveland Clinic priorities.
Manage a principal prospect portfolio with a focus on matching the prospect’s philanthropic interests with the needs and priorities of Cleveland Clinic.
Achieve significant dollar goals and is responsible for the success of initiatives for capital, programmatic, research, endowment and operating support for Cleveland Clinic.
Establish a program of personal visits with past, current and prospective high-level donors, as appropriate.
Work collaboratively with development teams to develop and manage engagement, solicitation and stewardship strategies for high-capacity prospective donors.
Engage central services teams to develop events, communications, and stewardship, for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship needed to advance principal gifts.
Ensure that donors are properly advised as to the financial options available, projects and needs.
Develop funding proposals to match donor interests with Cleveland Clinic priorities.
Mentor and guide other development officers on principal gift strategy.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree required.
