Essential Functions

• Registers or Pre-registers all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization for all services that requires authorization, pre-certification, and/or referral.
• Coordinates with patients and scheduling departments to reschedule procedures until authorization or patient payment can be arranged. Requests upfront payment of deposits from responsible party.
• Updates schedule for cancellations, rescheduling, and other changes on an ongoing basis.

Physical Requirements
This position frequently requires walking from different areas. Must be able to push a wheelchair with patient in it and maneuver through doors, up/down ramps and elevators. Must be able to respond quickly to medical STATS and emergencies. This position requires sitting frequently. Must be able to lift 20-50 pounds occasion
