About the role

The Team:

  • The Women’s+ team at the Launceston General Hospital provides comprehensive antenatal and gynaecological services to women and families throughout Northern Tasmania. Our clinicians work together to deliver safe, person‑centred care that reflects the diverse needs of our community. 
  • We also provide services beyond the hospital setting, working in outreach and community‑based environments to improve access for women in rural and regional areas.

The Role:

In this role, you will also play a key part in delivering engaging, evidence-based parent craft classes during the antenatal period, helping expectant parents build confidence in newborn care, feeding, birth preparation, and early parenting. These sessions support families to feel informed, empowered, and connected as they prepare for life with a new baby, and form an important extension of our commitment to accessible, person‑centred care across Northern Tasmania.

Details of appointment:

  • Fixed term part time, shift worker position, working up to 18 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us until 12 February 2027.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type 

Salary Packaging:

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and as a Registered Midwife

  • Working with Children Registration
