Job Opening: Production Associate

Work Location: 1179 Vestal Ave Suite 2, Binghamton NY 13903

Status: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 6:00pm. Saturday shifts (between 9:00am and 1:00pm) as needed and on a rotating basis about once a month.

As a Production Associate you will be accountable for enabling healthy lives for our customers by performing many functions of a pharmacy technician such as packaging medications, inventory control, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy. Typical responsibilities associated with this position are:

• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
• Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
• Performs proper operation, maintenance and servicing of automated packaging systems and equipment according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Participates in the periodic inventory audit counts of the pharmacy and documenting results.
• Check in drugs and supplies, verifying correct quantities are received into inventory records, stocking shelves, price labeling, and removing out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
• Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
• May assist with inventory management functions, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand.
• Assists with inputting patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (order entry).

• Previous pharmacy technician experience or related schooling a plus, but not required
• Data Entry experience in a pharmacy setting a plus but not required
• Basic computer skills
• Automated packing systems knowledge preferred, but not required
• QS1 knowledge a plus but not required
