Software Developer in Test (SDET) Intern

This is a paid Summer 2023 Internship. This is a temporary, full-time internship. Candidates must be able to commit to a 10 week program.

Team & Position Details: 

As an Intern on our Quality Assurance team, you will work alongside engineers to build testing practices, processes and documentation. You will be a part of touching and applying advanced forms of testing new to Virtru while also completing quality oriented tasks, such as automate API/Contract test cases. We are seeking an Intern level engineer who is dedicated to high quality production using (but not limited to) Javascript, Java, and Python. The ideal candidate will have a natural passion for digital privacy, software development, and great user experiences.  You’ll have the opportunity to work with a stellar team of passionate Engineers who are collaborative, cohesive, and dedicated to producing high-quality results.  We encourage curiosity and have a culture that encourages growth.  As an Engineer on this team, you will be on the cutting edge of Zero-Trust - the future of data and service protection!

 

 

As a Software Developer in Test(SDET) Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• Evaluating product functionality and create Test Plans
• Conduct manual tests
• Adding more API/Contract Tests, Shift Left Testing
• Help develop and maintain automated test scripts
• Documenting all tests and procedures

 

Skills and Tools that will help you thrive in this role: 

• Excited to learn “What is testing and why do we need it” 
• Familiarity with the Software development process from writing code for personal projects, coding competitions, or research
• Languages: JavaScript, Python, Java
• Infrastructure: AWS using Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Google Cloud
• Frameworks / Tooling: React, Redux, Webpack, Babel, Playwright
• Familiarity with data structure and algorithms
• Must be a self-starter who works well independently on assigned tasks and products
• Desire to learn and grow with a close-knit engineering team
• Currently pursuing or current degree in Computer Science or related field
