Principle Electrical Engineer- Onsite Position

We have a great opportunity for a Principle Electrical Engineer to join our team in Santa Clarita, CA!

As our Principle Electrical Engineer you are the lead member of the Electrical Design technical staff.  You will, design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications for a wide range of electrical components, equipment and machinery destined for military/defense customers.

Location: Santa Clarita, CA-Onsite

Salary: $ 138,700.00 - $184,900.00  per year plus potential bonus

Your Challenge

  • Determines design approaches and parameters based on input from customer or systems architect

  • Systematically determine root cause of failures or performance anomalies and provides technical approaches to resolve issues expeditiously

  • Analyze complex analog circuits to establish operating data, as well as conduct experimental tests to validate findings

  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability

  • May also review vendor capability to support product development

  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.

  • Leads the Electrical Engineering team on design guidance and design oversight from inception to release

  • Track progress of team design activity and design cost management

  • Leads standard design practices and continuous improvement activities

  • Leads design reviews and tracks design quality metrics

What You Bring

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and preferably a master’s degree in Engineering discipline and 10 minimum years' experience in a directly related field

  •  Must have very good understanding of electronic product design, an all-around knowledge of electronics, and also possess excellent design/troubleshooting skills.

  •  3-4 years of experience with Mentor Graphics Dxdesigner for schematic capture

  •  Experience with Xpedition and Hyperlynx is also preferred

  •  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Tool Suite

  •  Circuit design experience for both analog and digital, FPGA programming & component level design

  • Systematic design approach to electrical/circuit design

  • Hands on experience with debug tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, other laboratory tools)

  • Fundamental understanding of basic analog/digital architectures/blocks such as (filters, power converters, state machines, transfer functions)

  • Experience in control theory and able to design and analyze circuit at the transfer function level (Laplace Transformation, Z-transform, poles/zeros analysis, etc)

  •   Ability to perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.

  •   Experience taking projects from design to production

  •   Experience in technical leadership for an electronics design group
