Senior Manager, College Shipping and Receiving supports this mission by ensuring College mail and packages are efficiently handled and delivered across all Dallas College locations. Dallas College Facilities Management Department supports the facility needs for the College while providing responsible stewardship and efficient operation of the College's physical assets. The Facilities Management Department is responsible for approximately 5,000,000 sq. ft. of physical space and over 1400 acres of land, located across multiple locations in Dallas County.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments and projects, create detailed actions plans, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions.
- Knowledgeable of industry best practices and demonstrates a clear understanding of the proper maintenance of records.
- Able to perform quality, service, and safety inspections, monitor and document proper use of personal protective equipment, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and respond quickly to specific situations, and ability to work with a team to attain optimal performance and services rendered to campus/location facilities.
- Demonstrate positive working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Able to communicate effectively and courteously with contractors, vendors, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong knowledge and experience providing effective customer service.
- Ability to utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document daily work orders.
Physical Requirements
Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending over, stooping, twisting, talking, hearing, climbing ladders, using stairs, reaching overhead, crouching, kneeling, or crawling. Pushing or pulling 10- 50 lbs., lifting 10-80 lbs., carrying 10-50 lbs., repetitive use of arms and legs, driving, balancing, manual dexterity-fine manipulation or grasping. May require working in adverse weather conditions.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree preferred or high school Diploma or equivalent and ten (10) years of related experience, three (3) years of which includes a supervisory role.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of shipping, receiving, inventory control and College mail services in the receiving department.
- Manages the day-to-day operations and assigned staff of assigned areas, scheduling, and approving work schedules.
- Primary liaison with contracted services for assigned areas. Responsible for determining and implementing specific training needs based on specialized area(s).
- Responsible for supervision and assignment of work orders to shipping and receiving staff.
- Travel between College locations utilizing College owned vehicle.
- Will work with Facility Managers to ensure shipping and receiving processes meet College standards.
- Works with other Facilities teammates to ensure the highest level of customer ser- vice.
- Assist other Facilities Management teams as required.
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
