Description:The Mechanical Project Lead is the designated position with the overall responsibility to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate would be proven in the roles of safety leadership, delivery with adherence to the design documents and have a simplify and reduce mindset. The role functions in varying participation to ensure the quality of IFC engineering documents and is a field based role with 90% of the time at Construction Sites. The position supports the Capital Projects team reporting to the Bakken Construction Superintendent and is directly responsible for managing the Contractor’s execution of Site work activities. The position does not currently have an end date and is a growth role based on performance.
This Lead position will oversee site Civil, structural, mechanical and site interfaces with Operations, D&C, support functions, Coordinators, 3rd Party Off-Take Representatives, Regulatory Agencies and Project engineering.The work location is the ConocoPhillips Bakken Asset in and around Watford City, North Dakota.
Minimum responsibilities are:The selected candidate must be a Safety Leader and drive ConocoPhillips SPIRIT values.Quality adherence to industry standards, Federal and local regulations and ConocoPhillips standards/SpecificationsSites incident management and reportingAuthorized Permit writer for execution of all permit activitiesCivil, Structural and mechanical technical installation in accordance with the IFC drawingsContractor and vendor coordination to maximize the overall project installation efficiencyHold contractors accountable to their HSE Management System Mentor crews on proper and all-inclusive hazard identificationInterface with Capital Projects, vendors, and operations to ensure aligned communicationsVerify Contractor’s forward-looking work scope plan, and Schedule, using defined processes and proceduresSupport engineering turnover of executable IFC plans by P&ID, Constructability and WorkPack reviewsComplete all required documentation in the Work Pack ready for project completion/PSSRSupport Project Engineering through the development of Redlines and As-BuiltsApproval of the contractors pre-commissioning ITP/ITRs and leads walkdown with operationsResponsible for execution/Approval of Project Lead ITP Hold PointsLeads site quality assurance/quality control programs and gets help for COP QA as neededPerforming initial review of Contractor Variation RequestsAll pre-commissioning and PSSR sign off for handover to operations to support CSUDaily Reporting to personnel, progress, threats, equipment per project on T&MDevelop and implement recovery plans to gain back schedule due to delaysGenerates a weekly report on progress percent complete with aligned contractor look aheadAbility to effectively manage multiple Projects sites and ContractorsManages Contractor proactive HSE and Quality programs onsiteDocument through Project and participate in an after action review/Lessons Learned for capture in the Best Practices Log
Required Qualifications:Valid driver's license10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, or 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with applicable 4-year Bachelor’s degree (Construction Management, applicable Engineering, Others…)3+ years management of site construction crews in oil and gas industryAdvanced proficiency with P&ID and Isometrics drawingsProficient with Microsoft office suiteCapable of lifting 50 pounds and perform work in the elementsProven to actively communicate to protect people and the environment
Preferred:10+ years of Industrial construction experience5+ years of project management experienceNDE certification, Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), related API certificationFormer construction trade hands-on experience in an Industrial / Oil & Gas industrySchedule: 6 Days On/1 Day Off (10Hr Days)Per diem: $55/day meals & incidentalsLodging: $96/day
