EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP: Just cause subject to probationary period
CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting time for this position is 8:00am – 4:30pm.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under direction, carries out warehouse operations such as receiving, storing, counting, delivering, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment. Reviews inventory records for accuracy and adherence to procedures. Evaluates stock levels and enters data into various systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors activities in the warehouse to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
Intakes, processes, and stores incoming shipments, stockroom, and warehouse inventory.
Prepares and distributes materials, supplies, furniture, and equipment.
Checks inventory records to ensure accuracy and assess stock levels.
Assists in the preparation of the auction.
Compiles and maintains records of materials, equipment, and supplies.
Stages outgoing shipments and ensures accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Communicates frequently with vendors and departments regarding purchases and orders.
Organizes and maintains the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment to comply with standards and regulations.
Utilizes and operates various equipment such as a handcart, hand-truck, pallet jack, and Hilo equipment.
Operates an automobile (including a delivery truck) to perform assigned job functions.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a high school diploma or a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test
Three (3) years of warehouse or inventory control experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Management or related field
Experience operating Hilo equipment
Required Licenses or Certifications
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and operable, insured automobile for authorized travel
Obtain and maintain a current State of Michigan (Hilo) Industrial Powered Truck Operator license within one (1) month from the date of hire. Macomb County will provide the testing for licensing
