ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY
Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district.
THE POSITION
Under supervision of the District Attorney, this position provides clerical, administrative, and customer support to assigned department/ division. Responsibilities include basic word processing, document preparation, reception and customer service duties, data entry and retrieval, file maintenance, and serves as the first point of contact with visitors of the department/division.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, business management, or related field, AND
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant OR
• Any satisfactory combination of experience and training
• Eligible to become a notary public
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in a prosecutor’s office
• Previous supervisory experience
• Previous LEDS experience
• Knowledge of specific software utilized within department
