EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• At least six months of related experience in a similar role and environment.
• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
• Keep safety as a priority in the work environment.
• Ability to successfully complete a skills assessment. (eTRAIN test)
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent client service skills.
• Own and maintain required personal tools.

Strongly Preferred:
• At least one-year heavy equipment technician experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
• Caterpillar work experience.
• Vocational school Degree-Diesel

If offered employment, the specific rate of pay and position grade will be determined based on applicable differentials and the candidate’s level of experience and skill.

JOB DETAILS:

Location In-Field and Shop
Schedule Schedule to be provided by leader.
Salary Range $20.90- $27.00 Per Hour


JOB SUMMARY:
Load, unload, move, maintain, receive, and ship machines and equipment. Maintain yard, storage, and adjacent areas. Maintain equipment as needed. Perform minor equipment repair as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Operates forklifts and cranes to load, unload and move materials, components and equipment from trucks, rail cars and storage areas.
• Assists customers, vendors and truck drivers delivering or picking up equipment.
• Greets people courteously and without delay, determine their needs and provide help within 5 minutes of their arrival.
• Inspects each machine and notes any damage before the machine is moved.
• Takes pictures of questionable machine damage and reports immediately.
• Ensures all loads are properly prepared, loaded and secured to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while enroute.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repair work on equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Gives full, courteous cooperation and prompt service to customers.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and failures. Reports findings to supervisor.
• Maintains company equipment – keeps in good clean orderly condition. Reports repair or replacements needs to supervisor.
• Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains company equipment by checking fuel, oil, water, tires etc on truck and equipment before starting. All equipment is kept clean and ready for sale.
• Maintains and dispenses bulk and miscellaneous supply inventories.
• Assists dispatcher and material handlers if needed.
• Gathers information from a walk around inspection and reports to customer/management.
• Communicates orally and in writing information regarding equipment condition, problems, and recommendations.
• Provides on-the-job training as assigned.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Communicates with proper individuals to clarify instructions or discuss scope or progress of job.
• Works within and promote corporate values.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Demonstrated technical skill competence.
• Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
• Consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Current driver’s license.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
